Volunteer with the PTA for your child's school!

The following is an overview of activities that the PTA sponsors and promotes for the school. Let us know if you would like to help in any way. Volunteer online, contact the V.P. for any category, or  print the volunteer form (PDF) and return it to school with your child. You can also volunteer for special events (PDF).

COMMUNICATIONS

Vice President Charles Brannon  434-8737 
Facilitates internal and external communication and image projection.

  •  Amigos Latinos – Bilingual friends needed to help involve all our families.
  •  Membership – Run membership campaign, communicate with members.
  •  Newsletter – Help publish our PTA/School newsletter.
  •  Public Relations – Contact local news organizations about events at our school.
  •  Scrapbook / Historian – Host scrapbooking days/nights for parents.
  •  Create a scrapbook covering this year’s history of Triangle Lake Montessori.
  •  Student Directory/Handbook – Develop and distribute a student directory / handbook.
  • Yearbook – Get creative with yearbook software, pictures, and layout.

EDUCATION

Vice President – Erica Marion   841-1617
Supports student and parent education initiatives

  •  Childcare – Employ caregivers and support student enrichment during PTA meetings.
  •  Legislative Advocacy – Educate about larger issues that affect our students.
  •  Exceptional Child Advocacy – Support parents of exceptional children.
  •  Share information and training given by county PTA network.
  •  Health and Safety - Coordinate with school nurse and social worker to address health and safety concerns and educate parents, students and teachers.
  •  Literacy –Read with children or distribute books to classrooms. We need you!
  •  Parent Education - Arrange, publicize, and host Montessori Fair and parent education nights during the year in cooperation with school faculty and staff.
  •  Special Projects – Kids’ Vote, St. Jude Math-a-thon, Dr. Seuss Day, Battle of the Books, Odyssey of the Mind, etc.
  •  Test Proctors – Support faculty as they administer student testing and evaluations.

SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT AND SERVICE

Promotes Community and Student Spirit Initiatives

  •  Coffee and Juice Chats – Set up and clean up for monthly principal meetings.
  •  Clothing Closet – Receive uniform donations, organize clothing closet of student uniforms, distribute as needed.
  •  Grounds Projects – Gardening, athletic improvements, marquee update - choose your projects!
  •  Hospitality - Provide refreshments for PTA meetings. Offer congratulatory recognition or condolences to staff and members as needed.
  •  Special Events – “Dad and Me” Breakfast, Field Day, Blood Drive, Family Nights, Peace Day, etc.

WAYS AND MEANS

Vice President – Mary Beth Wood  289-5309 
Creates a financial base for program execution

  •  Book Fair – Help organize and sell great books!
  •  Box Tops and Labels – Sort, cut, and send to make money for our school.
  •  Community Networking – Solicit and support local business donations.
  •  Family Fun Day - Organize a Spring Carnival. Lots of helpers needed!
  •  Field Trip Grants and Classroom Project Subsidies – Distribute PTA gifts.
  •  Fundraising - Raise funds for PTA operations and special projects.
  •  Grants and Awards - Apply for grants and awards to help PTA and your school.
